Position Summary:


Primary Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Schedules daily requirements with Quality, Production Control, Program Managers, and Shipping; determine jobs that need to be done; coordinates to ensure optimum flow of paperwork; assists in resolving problems.
  • Handles customer source inspection, including calling and scheduling source and performing delegated source functions as required.
  • Trains lowerlevel Quality Analysts or clerks to be delegated source.
  • Reviews shop travelers/routers, ID sheets, mill certifications, ultrasonic certifications, etc., for product prior to shipment to the customer, per applicable work instructions.
  • Prepares certificate of conformance and organizes all documents according to quality procedures.
  • Generates IDR's as needed when problems are found.
  • Obtains corrected certificates as needed.
  • Advises lowerlevel quality analysts/clerks of incomplete or missing certifications prior to final certification review (when applicable).
  • Scans/Copies certification packages for shipment and files completed packages in Quality job files for future reference.
  • Develops and revises quality systems procedures and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation. Manages the internal auditing procedures and conducts audits.
  • Guides workers engaged in measuring and testing product and tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality and reliability as well as those who perform quality systems reviews, audits, and product certification.
  • Compiles and writes training material and conducts training sessions on quality control activities.
  • Trains employees in quality issues, appraises the performance of employees during audits for reporting to management, addresses quality complaints, and resolves quality related problems as assigned by management.
  • Provides management with suggestions and recommendations for quality improvement.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills:


  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and customers.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Experience & Education

  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
