Position Summary
The position's primary purpose is to provide cashiering, customer service and to assume tasks related to various Parking activities.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • As necessary, accept payments from parkers. Payments are for designated rates as set by UIC Parking Services.
  • As necessary, reconcile cash receipts with tickets to assure appropriate revenue has been accepted.
  • Assist in addressing issues related to devices and equipment in the lots such as filling tickets in entry stations, ensuring access control devices or automated payment devices are working properly, and reporting malfunctions that are unresponsive to troubleshooting immediately.
  • Responsible for providing customer service by assisting users in locating vehicles, using equipment, giving directions, and handling similar inquiries.
  • Provide routine surveillance of Parking facilities assigned.

The surveillance includes, but is not limited to:
a. Making sure parking space is available. b. Users are able to locate access out or into structures. c. Parking facilities are neat and free of refuse and debris. d. All vehicles are legally parked. e. unauthorized use or trespassing of facilities occurs.

  • Enforce all Campus Parking Services policies and rules as directed.
  • As directed, assist with traffic control during special events or when traffic volume necessitates intervention.
  • Report any facility conditions that need repair or maintenance. As directed, assist with meter collections and various collections of fees.
  • Responsible for notifying the appropriate manager of significant or recurring problems in parking.
  • As necessary, perform light housekeeping duties. Emptying trash, vacuuming, sweeping, etc.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Possession of a valid and current State of Illinois driver's license.
