- Design, build and deploy services supporting our enterprise cloud platform
- Mentor other software engineers around patterns and practices for highly available systems
- Integrate with CI/CD, Kubernetes, VMs, backend-services and managed-service offerings
- Build and maintain observability dashboards to monitor overall health of the ecosystem
- Build common components for reuse across the organization, maintaining documentation, demo applications and reviewing pull requests
- Work closely with our support team and user community to promote best practices for cloud adoption
- Engineering degree in a related technical discipline or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of development experience (Java, Go, Python or other languages)
- A solid foundation in object-oriented and cloud native design
- Experience with relational and document databases (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB, etc.)
- Experience learning new open-source software, APIs and frameworks
- Exposure to automated testing, modern CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform
- Familiar with bash, Git, JIRA and agile methodologies
- Experience with cloud infrastructure platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP, etc)
- Experience with container technologies and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
- Experience with devops practices and observability tools
- Experience working with and maintaining a community around open-source software
- Experience in performance analysis and tuning (application and database)
- Expertise in Java Spring Frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot, Spring JPA, Spring Security, etc)
- Understanding of basic networking concepts (e.g., load balancing, ACLs, DNS)
- Desire to evangelize Developer Culture and lead change within the organization
- Desire to mentor junior developers

Job Description
The Cloud Platform Experience team is responsible for developing and operating our SS&C cloud portal, which provides teams the ability to self-service infrastructure (compute, network, storage) for their application needs. We have a variety of front-end, back-end and operational work as we strive to provide full-service ownership for our applications and services.
You will be partnering with software and operations engineers to support a modern private cloud that can handle the requirements for a global company.
This position is open to remote work from within the US.
