Description
Under the general direction of the Senior Landscape Architect (SLA), the Caltrans Maintenance Area Superintendent Specialist(CMAS) serves as the District Maintenance Water Manager.
The incumbent directs the development of water management practices and policies that advocate the efficient use of water resources and is responsible for implementing, evaluating, and sustaining the highway landscape irrigation systems in District 11.
Maintains data consistency of various systems including the Remote Irrigation Control System (RICS), Geospatial Information System (GIS), Datalink database, invoice tracking, and field meter readings.
The incumbent will advise and consult with top-level district and statewide management, and help develop and implement the district's response to the State of California's water usage policies.
The position requires a Class C drivers license.-

Field reviews may expose the incumbent to heat or inclement weather, blown dust, traffic or equipment noise and uneven terrain.

- Describe your experience interacting with consultants, public agencies, other functional units, Headquarters (HQ), and other district personnel.
- Describe your experience using Integrated Maintenance Management System (IMMS), Microsoft Office, Google Earth, and providing training.
- Describe your experience providing guidance and oversight to ensure department policies are followed.
