We operate a hybrid working model, with a requirement that our Transaction Operations Lead Analyst 1 be in the office 3 days per week.

This is an opportunity to work interdependently with an engaged team that sits within a global Operations function at a global asset management firm.


Position Overview
Schroders is seeking an Trade Operations Lead Analyst 1 to join our Transaction Operations department. The Transaction Operations department falls under the larger Operations umbrella at Schroders.

This role will be part of a the New York Operations Hub which supplements the firm's operations hubs in the United Kingdom and Singapore.

The ideal person will have some prior experience and ambition to develop his/her career further within the Investment Manage/Financial Services Industry.

We are also seeking a self-motivated, highly organized individual who is able to work as part of a global team and meet strict deadlines.

As the primary focus of this role will be on fixed income portfolios, knowledge/experience with this asset class is desired.

Schroders Trade Operations is responsible for the confirmation, instruction and settlement of derivative, mutual fund, equity, fixed income and foreign exchange trades, instruction of cash payments/receipts, trade advice rendition.


Responsibilities

  • Deliver accurate, timely, compliant and cost effective trade processing services;
  • Ensure processes and procedures are in place to:
  • Identify, record, investigate and resolve trades failing to achieve market settlement by contractual settlement date.
  • Record, investigate and resolve trade related interest claims and report any associated costs to senior management in a timely manner.
  • Perform function in line with established business controls;
  • Provide administrative, transactional based support to others involved in the task of fund / portfolio management;
  • Support external client queries and ensure that they are investigated and responded to within agreed timelines; and
  • Assist training of staff as required on new and existing processes to ensure all tasks can be covered across the team; and
  • Provide specialist product knowledge; contribute to department and Company initiatives and projects

Basic Qualifications

  • Is experienced, independently carries out processes, has responsibility for specific processes and outcomes as well as challenges current processes to ensure continuous development and improvements.
  • Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred
  • Prior experience gained in a Trade Management function within a Financial Services Operational team supporting equity, fixed income, Repo, FX and Unit Trust asset classes;
  • Wider experience in Asset Management and understanding of the end to end asset lifecycle.
  • Must possess good interpersonal skills and/or written skills. Ability to explain relatively involved concepts in a clear and concise manner to others within the organization.
  • The ability to promote a positive and professional image and being helpful and polite is essential.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with the Aladdin platform
  • Knowledge of ABS/MBS trade processing
  • Good at analyzing and solving problems with a strong handle on operational risk
  • A strong team player able to develop and manage strong working relationships with global internal departments and external counterparties

Compensation
Schroders offers a base salary in a range of $70,000 to $90,000 for this position.

The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
