The Woodlands Christian Academy (TWCA) is an independent, Christ-centered college preparatory school serving students in PreK through 12th grade. With over 25 years of strong history and a clear vision for the future, TWCA is leading the way for Christian education in The Woodlands Texas area.


TWCA seeks a Handyman/Maintenance Worker whose focus is ensuring the school's building and facilities are always working properly, clean, orderly, safe, secure, and visually pleasing.

All duties are to be performed in a timely manner with a positive attitude.


Job Title:
Handyman/Maintenance Worker


Hours: 1:30 pm until 10:00 pm, Monday through Friday (Evening Shift)


Reports To:
Director of Facilities


Qualifications:
Three-years minimum experience in Facilities Maintenance and references required.


Compensation:
$18.00 per hour


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Service Tasks:_

  • Troubleshoot and resolve light plumbing issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve light electrical issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve light carpentry issues.
  • Unlock doors for faculty request.
  • Check Out Keys
  • Complete Requested Work Orders
  • Perform light carpentry and painting as needed for repairs or refresh.
  • Security

Maintenance Tasks:_

  • Check Light Bulbs
  • Repair Doors
  • Replace Key Cores
  • Work on Gates
  • Paint
  • Pressure Wash
  • Assemble Furniture
  • Daily Police Grounds for Trash
  • Blow off Sidewalks.
  • Pick up trash daily Parking Lot
  • Maintain Granite Trials
  • Weekly, Monthly, and Yearly Inspections
  • Touchup Paint in Needed Areas

Safety Tasks_

  • Inspect playground equipment.
  • Inspect for Dead Trees and Limbs
  • Inspect grounds for holes.
  • Inspect for wasp nests.

Janitorial Tasks_

  • Assist with Oncampus events.

Setup Events

  • Tables
  • Chairs
  • Tents
  • Equipment

Security Tasks_

  • Police campus for visitors without visiting badge
  • Daily lockup of all campus facilities in the evening

Education:

  • Possess a strong Christian testimony and be an active member of a Biblebelieving church.
  • Commit to personal spiritual development.
  • Serve as a positive Christian role model to students and pursue Christlike behavior.
  • Be a responsible steward of TWCA's resources and personally support TWCA's fundraising efforts at a level as able.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed and frequently.
  • Good dexterity, bending, stooping, and walking constantly.
  • Work in varied extreme outside weather conditions when necessary.
  • Perform in a highly stressful environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines and a varied and diverse array of contacts.
  • Sit and stand for extended periods of time; bend, stoop, climb stairs, and reach overhead.

This is a full-time hourly position with full benefits, fifteen days paid time off (one week taken during summer), and all designated school holidays.
