The Global Supply Planning Director is responsible for leading and optimizing the overall supply planning process for both mid-term and strategic planning horizons for their brand / region.

The objective is to meet the consensus demand plan in addition to capacity, working capital and service goals/objectives. Drive the monthly supply planning processes and execute both short
- and long-term goals. Develop and deploy IT systems and processes needed to achieve results. Lead and develop the supply planning team. Be a key architect of the Integrated Planning Process for Wolverine.

This is a global role, working with a highly matrixed, cross geography, multi-national organization across different time zones. The role involves high levels of communication with senior leadership and with individual contributors.

Balancing the needs of different stakeholders while supporting a global process requires the incumbent to have very strong communication, influencing and interpersonal skills while demonstrating drive and initiative in working through process improvements and driving operating results.

Directly reports to the VP, Global Supply Planning.


Job Description:


  • Build dynamic capacity and supply planning scenario models and strategies month) to support demand scenarios, productspecific requirements, and manufacturing capabilities
  • Lead the supply consensus meeting in the monthly endtoend planning cycle
  • Create integrated, aligned, stable, and agile supply plans to efficiently meet the fill rates, productivity and service level targets
  • Collaborate with Sourcing, Demand and Inventory teams to develop/adjust inputs for production planning and material management flow
  • Work closely with production planning and external suppliers to develop executable supply plans and risk mitigation strategies
  • Oversee the supplyside of new product launches with Product, Sales, Sourcing, and Operations teams
  • Aid in building short and longterm sourcing strategies, with analysis and recommendations to reduce FOB, secure capacity, reduce supply chain risk, and improve leadtimes
  • Be a key partner to continuously improve the endtoend planning process
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and presentations as needed for the senior leadership team
  • Independently lead projects and initiatives focused on improving productivity and simplifying processes throughout the planning organization
  • Assist in creation of automated reports to drive business decisions and calltoaction triggers to highlight performance and risk
  • Work closely with key crossfunctional groups to effectively communicate risks/opportunities (Product, Sales, Sourcing, Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, etc.)
  • Lead and develop the Supply Planning team to be a high performance and high engagement team
  • Achieve performance metrics and prioritize and escalate planning challenges, creating countermeasures to achieve KPI targets, conducting root cause analysis as needed to identify systemic issues
  • Lead the alignment of the supply plan to Operations and the integrated planning process
  • Influence senior leaders from across Wolverine and brands
  • Collaboratively build out and lead aspects of improving planning systems

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities for Success:

  • Minimum of seven years of experience with four years in production and capacity planning/materials replenishment/demand planning
  • Bachelor's degree with an MBA or advance degree preferred but not a requirement
  • Experience in footwear/apparel industry preferred but not a requirement
  • Extensive knowledge of the Sales & Operations Planning Process (S&OP) and Strong Background in Planning Systems and transactional ERPs e.g. SAP
  • Knowledge and experience in Integrated Business Planning (IBP), MRP and ERP systems inventory control, materials required planning, demand planning, and advanced supply chain planning and analytics
  • Strong leadership qualities including interpersonal, communication, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills with business leaders, internal and external business partners
  • Result oriented, problem solver with strong information seeking skills and attention to detail
  • Strong networking skills and ability to articulate strategies, goals and objectives
  • Excellent collaboration skills and executive presence
