Position Summary:


Forklift operators are responsible for operating and managing industrial trucks to load and unload materials and deliveries and move them to and from storage areas, residential line and loading docks, into trucks or warehouse #1 and warehouse #2 for storage.

As an operator, you are required to inspect your equipment before and after use.


Essential Job Functions:

The Shipping Forklift Operator will have several Roles and Responsibilities including, but not limited to the following:


  • Must be able to safety and efficiently drive sitdown fork forklift and sitdown squeeze (clamps)
  • Loading, unloading, shipping, and receiving warehouse items
  • Locate and move stock of products to pallets for shipment
  • Must be able to stack coolers in a safe and efficient manner, avoiding all fire lanes, escapes, and doors while maintaining proper stack height and straightness of stacking
  • Must be able to operate RFGEN scanning equipment, maintaining accountability while scanning coolers and parts. Moves coolers and parts from production or warehouse areas into specific location utilizing RFGEN scanning equipment
  • Shrink wrap pallets to prepare them for shipping
  • Weigh products and /or loads and record weight
  • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory.
  • Quality assurance (QA) duties, including reporting product damage and shortages
  • Reports any problems with materials or transportation to supervisor
  • Identifying workplace safety hazards.
  • Adhering to safety management standards.
  • Adhering to production schedules to determine timely transportation of products and materials
  • Matches items received with purchase orders and/or invoices
  • Maintain forklift equipment by troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, recommending repairs, and performing routine pre and post inspections
  • Perform general cleanup tasks to keep work area clean and free of excess debris

Requirements:


Required Skills and Abilities:


  • Completion of forklift driving course, a plus
  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or 1year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must have a minimum 2year forklift driving experience and current certification
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; follow verbal and written orders; read, write, speak, and comprehend English

**Operators of any of our forklifts requires use of two (2) feet for operation and two (2) hands for driving and operation of the fork adjustment levers. Operators must always have full use of all extremities in order to satisfy safe operation of our forklifts.
