Summerset Marine Construction is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Drafter to join our dynamic team.

As a Mechanical Drafter, you will play a crucial role in designing and creating detailed technical drawings and plans for marine construction projects.

Your expertise will help bring innovative ideas to life and ensure the successful implementation of our marine engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Drafting and Design:
Prepare accurate and detailed technical drawings, plans, and blueprints for various marine engineering projects. This includes vessels, offshore structures, dock facilities, marine equipment, and other related components.

Collaborate with Engineering Team:
Work closely with the engineering team to understand project requirements, design specifications, and technical details. Collaborate to ensure that the drafted designs adhere to industry standards and safety regulations.

Revise and Modify Designs:
Review and update existing drawings as required, ensuring that all changes and modifications are accurately recorded. Provide support during the design iteration process.

Quality Control:
Conduct thorough reviews of drafted plans to ensure accuracy, precision, and adherence to project guidelines. Perform necessary checks and corrections to maintain the highest level of quality in the final designs.

Software and Tools:
Utilize industry-standard computer-aided design (CAD) software and other drafting tools to create technical drawings and visual representations.

Compliance:
Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards, building codes, safety regulations, and environmental requirements.

Deadline Management:
Work efficiently to meet project deadlines and maintain a proactive approach to time management.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education: A degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, or a related field is preferred.
Experience: Previous experience as a Mechanical Drafter in marine construction, shipbuilding, or a related industry is a significant advantage.
CAD Proficiency: Proficient in using computeraided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar tools.
Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail and precision in creating technical drawings and plans.
Communication: Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with the engineering team and stakeholders.
Adaptability: Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and adapt to changing project requirements.
Knowledge: Familiarity with marine engineering principles, construction methods, and materials is desirable.
Problem-Solving: Strong problemsolving skills and the ability to find innovative solutions to design challenges.
Team Player: Works well in a teamoriented environment and contributes positively to team dynamics.
