We proudly sell and distribute the largest portfolio of import, craft and domestic brands in Virginia, delivering over 18.5 million cases of beer each year to 7,660 retailers across 26 counties in Virginia.

Position Summary:


The Company hires and trains individuals with less than one year of experience and enters them into our Driver Training Program.

Driver Trainees receive training and coaching and perform driver duties that allow them to gain the necessary experience to qualify for a professional driver position.

Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:

  • Satisfactorily complete the company's Driver Training Program
  • Safely and professionally operate a commercial motor vehicle
  • Use Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) and/or Material Handling Equipment (MHE) such as an electric pallet jack and/or hand truck
  • Maneuver vehicle and equipment in congested areas with limited space and potential obstacles
  • Unload and deliver products to our customer utilizing various methodologies that may include manual conveyors, carts, or pallets in multitemperature environments
  • Provide exceptional customer service to consumers and store personnel
  • Complete delivery and pick up paperwork
  • Pick up returned product as required
  • Collect company assets to include payments, carts, pallets, etc.
  • Complete pretrip, inroute, and posttrip inspections of equipment and vehicle
  • Complete company training and certifications as required
  • Effectively communicate and maintain contact with shift supervisor, dispatch, and/or coworkers
  • Other projects or duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Required Skills and Experience:


  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL), Learner's Permit, or equivalent driving experience in the military
  • Must have and maintain an acceptable driving record in compliance with DOT requirements
  • Must agree to satisfactorily complete the company's Driver Training Program
  • Must be able to lift products from 25 lbs. to 50 lbs. on a regular basis
  • Must be able to pass a postoffer background, DOT Physical and drug test

Preferred Skills and Experience:


  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Customer service experience
  • Experience with a handheld ordering device and working in a multitemperature environment
  • Stocking, product handling, local delivery, or unloading experience
  • Foodservice distribution, grocery store, or beverage delivery experience
