The primary responsibility of the Production Lead is to mentor employees in his/her respective department. They are responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and training of the assigned department personnel. They are GSM's front line problem solvers. They will stand as the Production Supervisor backup whenever the Production Supervisor is not present.

  • Comprehensive instruction in the operation of all Manufacturing equipment within the department.
  • Train new hires in the use and care of inspection equipment and tools
  • Provide focused retraining as instructed by supervisor
  • Positive role model always demonstrating safety, quality and predictable results during instruction and execution
  • Provide training in performing operator preventative maintenance and work place hygiene tasks
  • Collaborate to ensure training documents reflect current state processes
  • Collaborate with Production Supervisors, Production Manager, and employees to improve processes where possible
  • Watch for opportunities to incorporate needed safety procedures into training documents whenever possible
  • Instruct new hires using training documents (Safety, QA & Best Practices for machine operation) and designated tools
  • Receive factory training on all new equipment and technologies
  • Decrease time from onboard to certification process
  • Certify new hires and existing employees according to established standards
  • Mentoring existing and sponsoring new hires
  • Monitoring and communicating new hire progress with supervisors
  • Monitor training equipment for proper fit and function suggest improvements and replacements as needed

Education:


  • Minimum high school diploma or GED and three to five years related experience and/or training.
  • Certificate in supervision or leadership from an accredited institution of higher education or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:


Minimum of three years of experience within a manufacturing environment is required,
preferably in metal fabrication or related industry.** 2 Years or more experience running Assembly is preferred.
