Full Stack Software Engineer - Denver, United States - Urban Sky
![Default job background](https://contents.bebee.com/public/img/bg-user-ex-1.jpg)
Description
About Urban Sky:Urban Sky is a venture-backed aerospace startup pioneering stratospheric operations and reimagining the way humans analyze the earth. We design, build, operate, and sell stratospheric balloon systems, and the data we collect supports a wide range of applications, from real-time wildfire monitoring to urban mapping. Urban Sky sends flight vehicles to the stratosphere on a weekly basis.
We aim to build the next chapter of stratospheric history in Denver and are seeking self-starting, open-minded, and hard-working team members.
About the Role:
Urban Sky is at the forefront of innovation in the aerospace industry, and as a Software Engineer, you will be a key player in our mission. Your primary responsibility will be to make significant contributions to our custom mission control software, a cornerstone of our operations that ensures the seamless execution of balloon flights and data collection missions. Your contributions to our software will largely serve our existing and expected end-users, including external parties that buy and operate our stratospheric systems today (i.e. the U.S. Department of Defense, including the U.S. Army and the U.S Air Force.) Experience working with DoD end-users is not required or expected, but is a plus.
Beyond this central task, you'll also have the unique opportunity to expand your impact by contributing to other critical software projects within the company. These include enhancing our sophisticated image processing pipeline, which plays a vital role in analyzing and interpreting data captured during flights, and refining our real-time wildfire detection system, which utilizes cutting-edge computer vision technology to identify and assess wildfire risks. This position offers a dynamic work environment where your efforts will directly influence the success and innovation of our company.
As a Software Engineer at Urban Sky, you will find yourself working on projects that demand not only technical excellence but also a deep understanding of the aerospace industry. You'll be part of a cross-functional team that includes aerospace engineers, scientists, and software professionals, collaborating closely to transform project requirements into innovative software solutions. You will play a pivotal role in creating documentation that ensures the integrity and maintainability of the software you develop. Your attention to detail and dedication to producing high-quality code will be crucial to our success.
Key Functions:
Must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident
Urban Sky is an equal opportunity employer and we value diversity. All employment is decided on the basis of qualifications, merit and business need.
