Description
We partner to enable a qualified and engaged workforce to labor diligently in the Lord's vineyard.
The purpose of this role is to support HR core/essential legal compliance work for the US workforce requiring entry level professional knowledge.
This individual contributor role is a member of the Workforce Relations and Compliance team and is responsible for ensuring that the Church nonprofit entities comply with all regulations and requirements for employment legal compliance including FMLA, ADA, I-9, and other items.
Employees at this level work under direct supervision, have beginning to working knowledge, and handle basic issues and problems.#LI-DF1
Required:
o Demonstrate strong time management skills
o Deliver excellent customer service
o Problem solve and provide effective solutions
o Communicate effectively in writing and verbally
o Effectively utilize computers and systems including Microsoft Office products (particularly Excel and Word)
o Apply policy and law to business situations
o Collaborate and work effectively in a team
o Counsel together with peers and supervisors with the ability to accept and provide candid feedback
o Work with cross functional teams (i.e. HR, Legal, IT, Store Operations etc.) and ability to work with and display sensitivity to a multicultural workforce
o Use technical processes with attention to detail
o Work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment while managing priorities
o Be organized and have a strong attention to details
To successfully perform the essential functions of the job there may be physical requirements which need to be met such as sitting for extended periods of time and using computer monitors/equipment.
Preferred:
o Experience in an HR department with employee compliance matters
o Experience handling, updating, and completing I-9 forms
Works under supervision and in consultation with manager and senior compliance specialist for assigned group/area.
Assists and works under supervision regarding compliance matters involving I-9 and E-Verify processes, FMLA, ADA, subponea requests, employment poster compliance, Wage and Hour compliance rules, both federally and for state jurisdictions.
Accountable to deliver the following essential activities for the US workforce:o Supports processes for all US legal compliance for employment laws and regulations
From the IT professional who develops an app that sends the gospel message worldwide, to the facilities manager who maintains our buildings- giving Church members places to worship, teach, learn, and receive sacred ordinances-our employees seek innovative ways to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with the world.
