    General Responsibilities:


    Terracon's Houston office is seeking a Project Industrial Hygienist to join our team This position offers a professional growth opportunity in a fast-paced work environment with the nation's #1-ranked asbestos and lead design firm.

    In this role, you will Investigate sites for physical & environmental risks, conduct field studies like chemical & noise monitoring, asbestos surveys, & mold assessments, and develop sampling strategies & analyze data.

    You will also research regulations & hazards and prepare risk assessment reports & provide recommendations to clients.


    Terracon has over 200 asbestos practitioners in 70 offices, plus 27 CIHs and another 150 industrial hygiene practitioners in offices from coast to coast.

    Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
    • Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
    • Career level, fully competent industrial hygiene professional responsible for planning, scheduling, conducting or coordinating detailed phases of work for part of a major project or total of a project of moderate scope and complexity.
    • May devise new approaches to problems encountered.
    • May serve as a team leader in medium projects and mentor junior-level industrial hygienists, scientists or engineers.
    • Perform scientific analyses on projects of own discipline.
    • May attend on and off-site client meetings.
    • Implements technical requirements to complete client projects by directing and supervising field staff to sample, test and collect data and/or document site activities.
    • Responsible for developing written proposals to clients for both small and large projects including quality control review of proposals written by others.
    • Evaluates complex laboratory and field data and assembles in written reports.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science or related science field.
    • Minimum 5-8 years' experience.
    • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).
    • Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history

    Preferred:

    • Master's Degree or PhD
    • TX asbestos and/or mold consulting experience preferred.
