    Description

Do you have a background in the social sciences or humanities? Do you have an interest in human behavior, perceptions, and opinions? Is it important for you to do work that has impact? Are you detail-oriented, focused, and collaborative? Then this role at City Square Associates might be a good fit for you

    Who We Are

City Square Associates is a full-service research firm that uses a variety of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies to obtain and apply consumer insight. Our toolkits for addressing our clients' research questions include survey research, focus groups, in-depth interviewing, ethnography, and analysis of audience metrics as well as custom methodologies built to suit our clients' needs. Our clients come to CSA because they don't just want data; they want to know what it means, and how they can use it to improve performance and drive success.

    The Position

The Research Analyst will be an integral part of a small team that services clients from the worlds of media, education, non-profits, health science, and other industries. This is an entry-level position where the Analyst would be involved in helping the team execute both qualitative and quantitative primary research for the purpose of generating actionable consumer insights. The Analyst will also assist on a variety of business development and marketing initiatives for the firm. Because much of our model of team work is based in large part on live collaboration and idea generation, we work together in-person at our East Cambridge office Monday through Thursday, and work remotely on Fridays. During the months of July and August, we are closed on Fridays.

    What You'll Do

    • Contribute to quantitative research projects through survey programming and testing, coding of open-ended text responses, cross-tabulation of survey data, building charts or other data visualizations, and document editing
    • Contribute to qualitative research projects by helping to implement recruitment efforts, managing research assets (AV files and project documentation), distributing honorariums and providing customer service to research subjects and clients
    • Work across a variety of metrics platforms and secondary research sources to generate reports, to create clean datasets, and perform basic analyses of consumer characteristic and behaviors
    • Contribute to ongoing marketing initiatives for the practice using cloud-based platforms such as Hubspot and Constant Contact
    • Help expand the firm's portfolio of research vendors and research platforms as necessary
    • Collaborate with the CSA team to review business opportunities and RFPs from across multiple sources

    What You'll Bring

    • A desire to be part of a small and close-knit team
    • A curious disposition and ability to learn on the fly
    • Strong time management and project management skills, with the ability to set daily or weekly "to-dos" and triage responsibilities
    • A proven ability to adapt and overcome unique roadblocks that occur unexpectedly during the project lifecycle
    • A Bachelor's degree in the social sciences, the humanities, or a business field, though applicants with a Bachelor's degree in a field not listed here are still encouraged to apply
    • Workplace experience in a research-oriented, business, creative, academic, and/or or social service professional environment
    • Deep familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and proficiency in Excel
    • Also desirable: Some experience with data visualization software like Tableau and/or media editing software like the Adobe Creative Suite and web analytics platforms like Google Analytics or and/or media audience measurement tools like Nielsen or Sprout Social. Some familiarity with survey programming software or platforms like Qualtrics, and cloud-based marketing and CRM platforms like HubSpot also desirable.
