Resident Services Coordinator


The Resident Services Coordinator develops and implements supportive service programming in collaboration with residents, management, and local community service providers.

Provides ongoing outreach services to identify individuals who would benefit from services, recruit volunteers, and identify program and service gaps.

Acts as a liaison between the Saugus Housing Authority and local human service providers to coordinate services. Assist with securing additional program funds and grants. The RSC can also provide outreach to economic self-sufficiency programs.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provides case management expertise to include but not limited to assessments, supportive counseling, linking to community resources, monitoring progress, collaboration with other providers, and care coordination.
  • Maintains information in each client's folder to include demographics, assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  • Assists with necessary outreach and engagement activities to include clients, their families, and community providers.
  • Identifies individual tenant services needs through ongoing outreach, engagement, screening, and assessment activities.
  • Maintains sufficient contact with tenants to ensure engagement with tenant services; identifies emerging needs and promotes goal attainment.
  • Assists clients with securing and maintaining, employment, entitlements and benefits through income and disability support resources.
  • Maintains, prepares, and provides efficient reporting; may present and explain data and expertise to any level of staff, board, or community.
  • Prepares statistical and related data reporting to the Executive Director quarterly and EOHLC annually as required.
  • Collaborates with other departments and outside partners effectively ensuring team
- oriented tenant-centered focus as well as creating a safe and secure environment for tenants, staff, and visitors.

  • Solicits regular resident input for program planning.
  • Effectively and creatively communicates with residents (such as by newsletter, flyer, bulletin board, door knocking, etc.) to ensure residents are informed of available resources and programs.
  • Assists with unit inspections.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in related field or at least three years' experience in a related field or college degree ideally with a focus in social work, public health, human services, or community development.
  • Two years of experience providing individual services to a diverse population of individuals and families.
  • Knowledge of appropriate community resources especially entitlement and housing resources
  • Knowledge of community resources and service networks.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience working within diverse communities, including people of various ages, gender, sexual orientations, national origins, income levels, ability levels, religious affiliations, races, and languages.
  • Ability to work with people with mental health, disability, substance abuse, legal and financial issues.
  • Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment with both internal and external partners.
  • Ability to network and develop community partnerships.
  • Experience utilizing MS Office and webbased programs.
  • Be certified in CPR and First Aid or can become certified within six months of starting position.
  • Must be willing and able to travel between sites.
  • Must possess a high level of professionalism and must have proven experience successfully demonstrating the ability to maintain strict confidentiality as well as maintain a positive, collaborative, and supportive attitude.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED
General supervision by Executive Director with responsibility for acting independently in completion of duties. Also coordinates with the Maintenance Supervisor and Administrative Staff.
