EdLogical Group was founded in 2009 by Dianne and Hector Valentin with the primary focus of providing exceptional Special Education Services to students.

EdLogical offers top-notch service provision to those students who receive special education services and supports. We have assisted charter schools and school districts in navigating the complexities of Special Education. We have done this by providing high-quality, experienced, and knowledgeable special educators.

All EdLogical team members are professional educators or practicing clinicians with a comprehensive understanding of the programmatic, administrative and fiscal issues of program development and service delivery.


Purpose of the Position:
The purpose of the position is to provide services to visually impaired students. This is a part-time position located in the San Fernando Valley and Los Angeles areas.

$45.00 to $55.00/hr

Position Responsibilities and Duties:


  • Evaluates pupils utilizing criterion and/or norm referenced tests that are appropriate to determine the pupils' visual functioning levels, competencies and needs in the areas of communication, motor, social, selfhelp, academics, vocational education and cognitive skills
  • Develops an appropriate IEP with specific content that contains measurable goals and objectives based on assessment, knowledge of child development, basic principles of learning and learning continuums
  • Provides a positive environment in which to learn
  • Instructs pupils directly in special skills which include but are not limited to braille reading and writing, orientation and mobility, listening skills, tactile skills, visual efficiency, concept development, use of large print and optical aids
  • Assists in determining eligibility and regular education placement when appropriate
  • Assists pupils to integrate into regular education programs
  • Teaches students skills in explaining their disability
  • Makes referrals to other programs and services
  • Provides consultation, resources, and assistance to the participating regular classroom teacher; develops and implements curriculum activities that correlate to the pupils' objectives
  • Monitors learning and adjusts teaching strategies and activities accordingly
  • Uses proper spelling and grammar, oral and written
  • Completes records accurately
  • Prepares a written preplanned daily schedule of pupil/class lessons and activities
  • Utilizes a variety of materials and teaching techniques
  • Shares materials and plans with others; attends meetings as required; conducts all pupilrelated procedures in compliance with State regulations and time lines
  • Attends staff meetings as called by the supervisor
  • Itinerant assignment work/teach in a variety of settings and complies with Monterey County Office of Education Board Policies and Administrative Regulations.
  • Physical, mental and emotional stamina to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to write, use telephone, business machines and specialized classroom equipment
  • Vision sufficient to read printed materials
  • Hearing sufficient to conduct inperson and telephone conversations
  • Speaking ability in an understandable voice with sufficient volume to be heard in normal conversational distance, and on the telephone
  • Physical agility to push/ pull, squat, twist, turn, bend, stoop, reach overhead, climb and move quickly or run after a child in an emergency situation
  • Physical mobility sufficient to move about the work environment (office, district, school or home sitetosite), drive a van or automobile, and respond to emergency situations
  • Physical strength sufficient to lift 45 pounds alone and more with a twoperson lift
  • Physical stamina sufficient to sit, stand or walk for prolonged periods of time; mental acuity to collect and interpret data, evaluate, reason, define problems, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, make valid judgments and decisions.

Minimum Skills or Qualifications:


  • Education and Experience_
