SUMMARY:

HBG is looking for an
Educational Wholesale Sales Manager to drive sales at our top educational wholesalers and bookfair accounts.

This dynamic individual will be responsible for all Educational Wholesale accounts, in addition to Scholastic and Literati, our Book Fair accounts.

Responsible for selling to and managing our growing frontlist and steady backlist title selection, this person will join our Childrens sales team and will work closely with his/her/their sales counterparts, as well as our Publishing colleagues.

This role is based out of our NY office on a two day per week hybrid schedule.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Sell to educational wholesalers and bookfair accounts by creating and curating sales presentations and materials for these accounts
  • Serve as a key salesperson to account across multiple wholly owned and client imprints.
  • Sell frontlist, backlist, and seasonal promotions and work with internal Hachette Book Group departments to forecast all stock needs.
  • Organize and lead title and sales presentations to account, highlighting priorities and opportunities, and anticipate/respond to any and all inquiries.
  • Work with publishers and accounts on customized projects with goal of business growth
  • Run and analyze account sales reporting, looking to maximize our sales opportunities
  • Work closely with our accounts, providing superior service
  • Maintain account estimates and orders in HBG systems
  • Participate fully and offer market feedback in seasonal gotomarket meetings, including Strategy and Sales Conference

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:

***- At least 2-3 years prior publishing experience

  • Must be comfortable in a fastpaced sales department
  • Excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail
  • Must be agile and be able to perform multiple tasks on a daily basis
  • Selfstarter, able to take ownership of job responsibilities and manage work time efficiently
  • Able to communicate and work effectively with colleagues at every level of seniority as well as accounts and clients
  • Must be proficient in MS Word, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint and have strong analytical skills and comfort working with numbers
  • Ability to communicate and interact professionally with accounts, clients, and colleagues

The compensation range for this position is $60,000 - $80,000.

There may be times that you will be required (or requested) to work overtime due to the nature of your role or exceptional workload issues or special projects.
