We are seeking a highly motivated Construction Manager to join our creative and dedicated team.

    This position coordinates construction compliance with the project schedule, safety, cost, and quality decisions in conjunction with the Project Manager.

    Responsibilities

    • Partner with the Project Manager during the construction phase to manage, forecast, and report on progress, schedule, issues, conditions, system signoffs/ acceptance, logistics, equipment, and materials.
    • Act as a liaison between the Customer and the Subcontractors, ensuring the customer's requirements are being met while facilitating efficiency for the construction activities.
    • Oversee and coordinate all construction activities.
    • Provide written and verbal routine reporting to the associated management team. This includes daily reports, RFIs, updating project schedules, change orders, inspection reports, Safety and QC, and looking ahead.
    • Thoroughly review and understand project documents, including plans, specifications, contracts, purchase orders, submittals, installation manuals, code books, proposals, technical descriptions, OSHA and safety, SWPPP, etc.
    • Provide technical leadership for on-site field administration, supervision, and management for all construction operations to achieve on-budget and on-schedule completion.
    • Coordinate plans and specifications with engineers to clarify discrepancies using a documented RFI system.
    • Coordinate material receiving with the Project Manager and oversee subcontractor inventory of received materials.
    • Proactively identify potential shortages of materials, staffing, services, and equipment required to complete the job scope in a timely, compliant, and efficiently.
    • Implement a quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) program and coordinate inspections by QC personnel.
    • Verify that the EPC contractor is utilizing an adequate safety program governing all site safety and confirm that the safety officer has implemented a safety program.

    Qualifications

    • 2-5 years of construction management experience required; 10+ years preferred.
    • Experience in solar and BESS construction preferred.
    • A degree in construction management, equivalent technical or military education preferred.
    • Completion of the OSHA 30-hour construction industry safety course is preferred.
    • Possess a valid California driver's license and a good driving record is required.
    • Knowledge, and experience with AC and DC electrical systems, wiring and conduit installation, communication wiring, and familiarity with civil and structural trade practices and equipment.
    • Thorough knowledge of the National Electrical Code, familiarity with the International Building Code, and other related codes and standards directly related to electrical or photovoltaic systems.
    • Experience with data monitoring systems preferred.
    • Experience with Procore preferred.
    • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to excellence.
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients and customers.
    • Excellent computer skills and familiarity with MS Office and MS Project.
    • Highly organized and skillful at working on multiple activities simultaneously.
    • Willingness to travel throughout the year with extended stays at job sites as needed during the construction process.
    • A "Can Do" positive attitude and superior problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to be on feet most of the time, climb stairs, and work in cold and hot environments.
