Inventory Clerk - Houston, United States - Alltrans Terminal Companies

Description

• Conduct regular inventory counts to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies
• Track incoming and outgoing shipments, including verifying quantities and inspecting for damage
• Utilize warehouse management system to update inventory records and generate reports
• Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to coordinate order fulfillment and ensure timely delivery
• Assist in sourcing new suppliers and negotiating pricing terms
• Optimize materials management processes to minimize waste and reduce costs
• Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment
• Perform other duties as assigned

• The ability to count a verity of cargo in bundles, packs, or loose from a cargo vessel or a semi tractortrailer.
• Understand basic heavy cargo handling practices by cranes, Forklifts, and trucks.
• The ability to work long days and weekends based on workload.
• Have a knowledge of oil drilling steel pipe products, steel plates, and steel coils, including types, grades, and specifications.
• The ability to organize and quickly handle large volumes of steel cargo in a single shift as trucks will be lined up and required to be loaded in or loaded out of the cargo terminal.
• Individual must possess a Transportation Workers Identification Workers Badge (TWIC Card)
• Individuals will have to be willing to work out in the elements for the duration of their entire shift handling the cargo.
• Be able to pass a Background, Drug & Alcohol Test, and a basic physical prior to being offered the permanent position.
• Individuals will be required to take a basic knowledge test prior to being offered the position concerning cargo handling, inventory, and pipe handling experience.
• Proven experience in inventory control, shipping/receiving, or warehouse management
• Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately collect and analyze data
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
• Strong problemsolving skills and ability to adapt to changing priorities
