Job Description

POSITION REQUIREMENTS (Required Tasks)

Support business process through feasibility review, cycle time review and make/buy decision making
Review Technical Data Package (TDP) to include drawings, specifications and models for completeness
Completes ERP system BOMs and routings and check against RFP. Input initial BOMs and Routings into Oracle
Provide technical leadership to ensure a smooth transition from launch, prototype, and FAI/PPAP product manufacturing
Participates in creation of bid and proposals for RFQ submissions
Builds and maintains effective working relationships & communication across functional organizations
Support internal documentation systems in accordance with ISO
Adhere to all safety rules and procedures
Other duties as assigned

SKILL SET (Required Skills)

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or a related engineering field is required
2+ years of experience in a manufacturing company is preferred
One-year experience in Autocad, one-year experience in Solidworks 3D modeling required. Three years' Autocad and Solidworks a plus
Good working knowledge of metal works processes (laser cutting, brake press forming, GMAW and TIG welding), armor steel materials and manufacturing methods
Continuous improvement experience with composite and metal working manufacturing processes and tooling
Current and diverse knowledge of applicable engineering practices along with the proven ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously is desired
Professional communication (written, verbal and presentation) skills
Strong knowledge of materials and processes used in armor and tactical vehicle manufacturing is preferred. Relevant topic areas include:
1. Composites (armor steel, aramid, ceramics)
2. Metal Working (laser, sandblast, bend, weld, cnc machine)
3. Industry appropriate Design validation techniques
4. Industry appropriate Process validation techniques
5. Modern (APQP) Quality Systems requirements
6. Proven track record in new product introduction
7. Ability to apply tolerances, conduct tolerance stack-ups and apply GD&T to new concepts and designs is preferred
8. Familiarity with ASME drawing standards
9. Demonstrated strong root cause analysis and technical troubleshooting skills will be an important part of this job function
10. Experience in configuration and change management (engineering change requests, orders, implementation)
11. Intermediate experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point and Project software is required
12. Oracle ERP is a plus

Seldom climbing, bending and squatting.
