Description
The Patient Aid Navigator role facilitates and provides support and services to the nursing unit on inpatient floors. The Patient Aid Navigator will serve as a patient liaison for patient requests and other non-clinical duties assigned. The Patient Aid Navigator will support and promote customer service improvement initiatives for the organization.


Essential Functions (list in order of importance including measures)
Provide support to nursing staff by performing the following:

  • Answering and responding to all call lights.
  • Assisting nursing with patient requests such as water, blankets, pillows, and other requests.
  • Assist nursing team with providing supplies while nurse is in an isolated room.
  • Assist with dropping off specimens to laboratory.
  • Work closely with nursing team to observe patients with high fall risks while toileting.
  • Assist nursing team with cleaning patient bedside tables.
  • Assist nursing team with completion of patient belongings checklist.
  • Conducts patient rounds, actively connecting with the patient at the bedside, and serving as a liaison to connect the patient's voice, expectations, and perspective with the hospital care team. (Hourly rounds)
  • Acts as resource, referral and advocate for all Saint Anthony's patients. Works cooperatively with Saint Anthony Nurses and Patient Care technicians to ensure that patients are receiving high quality care.
  • Expands understanding of patient's needs, working to ensure that all patients have access to services offered by Saint Anthony Hospital.
  • Works closely with Patient Experience Manager for service recovery.
  • Other duties assigned necessary.

Qualifications:


  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
years experience in Customer Service.
