Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for planning, executing, directing and evaluating direct and indirect nursing care given to endoscopy patient.

The nursing care ranges from preoperative intervention, intraoperative and postoperative evaluation while meeting the patient's needs and ensuring continuity of care.


Responsibilities:


  • Perform all nursing duties in accordance with the state Nursing Practice Act, while adhering to all facility policies and procedures.
  • Actively demonstrate a working knowledge of nursing theory, techniques, principles, and practice in order to care for the patient.
  • Perform routine nursing care while utilizing age specific and universal precaution practices at all times Monitor patient progress and identifies any changes in status, acting on those changes to insure patient comfort and safety.
  • Assist physicians and all healthcare professionals caring for patient, always giving a complete and thorough report on patient status throughout procedure process.
  • Communicate with all staff, patients, and families with excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Consistently seek educational tools in order to broaden knowledge base of various age groups, diseases, and best practices.
  • Collaborates with the Infection Control Committee in preventing and identifying potential for infections.
  • Supports and demonstrates continuous improvement of quality and service excellence.
  • May perform other tasks as assigned.

Required Skills:


Qualifications:


  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Must have currently TX state license
  • BLS, ACLS required (must have current ACLS or achieve within 6 months of hire).
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
  • USPI complies with federal, state, and/or local laws regarding mandatory vaccination of its workforce. If you are offered this position and must be vaccinated under any applicable law, you will be required to show proof of full vaccination or obtain an approval of a religious or medical exemption prior to your start date. If you receive an exemption from the vaccination requirement, you will be required to submit to regular testing in accordance with the law._
