Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a grocery retail setting preferred.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical requirements:


  • Continuous hand manipulation including, grasping, pushing, pulling and fine manipulation
  • Reaching above and at shoulder level
  • Standing up to 8 hours per shift
  • Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
  • Driving moving equipment (Forklift / Power jack)
  • Working near hazardous materials
  • Exposure to dust, gas, fumes, and cleaning solvents
  • Exposure to extremes in temperature (Coolers, ovens, hot water)

Responsibilities:


As a Dishwasher at Gelson's, you will play a key role in supporting the daily operations of Gelson's kitchen department.

You will be responsible for washing and sanitizing all kitchen related dishes, pots and pans, and utensils as well as performing general cleaning of equipment and food prep areas.

You will also be responsible for receiving and organizing products and food preparation and may occasionally be asked to provide customer service.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Wash pots, pans, cooking utensils, other kitchen items and equipment by hand employing all sanitary measures.
  • Maintain a clean washing area and follow all safety guidelines.
  • Maintain adequate levels of detergents and cleaning supplies; take inventory of supplies and submit order request as needed.
  • Assist in preparing ingredients for the hot foods and deli case foods by chopping vegetables, cutting meats, and ensuring herbs and spices are in place and readily available for production.
  • Ensure that department products are organized in kitchen storage areas and in coolers.
  • Respond appropriately to all customer interactions, providing excellent customer service.
  • Remove trash from department and dispose according to company procedure.
  • Comply with safety policies and procedures, store rules and company policies and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Embrace new challenges and be a flexible team player, taking on responsibilities as needed.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required.
