Overview:

The Management Trainee job is an exempt, entry-level position in which the employee will receive training and experience necessary to become a successful manager in a commercial layer facility. Teamwork skills are vitally important as the Trainee works directly and indirectly with employees, supervisors, and managers.

Responsibilities:

Depending on specific assignment, the Management Intern's duties will include:

  • Support management as needed with supervisory responsibilities in the layer and pullet houses, processing plants, egg grading, packing, warehousing, shipping.
  • Plan, assign, and direct work.
  • Assist in addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Perform day to day animal caretaker duties of a pullet and layer farm.
  • Learning the different production systems.
  • Learning and demonstrating basic animal welfare.
  • Learning Feeding Program, Lighting Program, Vaccination Programs
  • Learning Maintenance Programs
  • Understand Inventory Management, Including grain, and Egg Inventories
  • Food Safety, HACCP Plans
  • FDA, SQF, EPA, USDA
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Current or recent enrollment in an undergraduate degree program with an Ag Related degree and aptitude to work in the poultry Production, Processing and Feed Mills.
  • Ability to work a Full-Time schedule for an 812 week period.
  • Ability and willingness to temporarily relocate.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint

Salary Range:
USD $1, USD $1,923.00 /Bi-Wkly
