Overview:

The Management Trainee job is an exempt, entry-level position in which the employee will receive training and experience necessary to become a successful manager in a commercial layer facility. Teamwork skills are vitally important as the Trainee works directly and indirectly with employees, supervisors, and managers.

Responsibilities:

Depending on specific assignment, the Management Intern's duties will include:

Support management as needed with supervisory responsibilities in the layer and pullet houses, processing plants, egg grading, packing, warehousing, shipping.
Plan, assign, and direct work.
Assist in addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Perform day to day animal caretaker duties of a pullet and layer farm.
Learning the different production systems.
Learning and demonstrating basic animal welfare.
Learning Feeding Program, Lighting Program, Vaccination Programs
Learning Maintenance Programs
Understand Inventory Management, Including grain, and Egg Inventories
Food Safety, HACCP Plans
FDA, SQF, EPA, USDA
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Current or recent enrollment in an undergraduate degree program with an Ag Related degree and aptitude to work in the poultry Production, Processing and Feed Mills.
Ability to work a Full-Time schedule for an 812 week period.
Ability and willingness to temporarily relocate.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
