  • Base salary Range: $115, $165, less applicable deductions)

Position Overview:


Reporting to the CFO, the Controller will help build a high-performing accounting and finance organization with best-in-class controls and processes to support the company's growth while enhancing profitability and ensuring liquidity and financial stability.

The Controller will manage monthly GAAP financial reporting, investor reporting requirements, BvA analyses, annual budget, monthly forecast and cash planning.

Initially, the incumbent will work closely with the CFO and will eventually assist in building a small finance team.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Participate in organizational financial planning and risk management.
  • Oversee and maintain the general ledger and accounting functions and systems, ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements while maintaining accurate financial accounts, including:
  • Manage the month-end closing process and ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly in a timely manner.
  • Prepare, analyze, and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to management.
  • Assist the CFO with investorfacing and Board communications.
  • Maintain accounting systems access controls and ensure control of confidential and proprietary information.
  • Manage invoicing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll preparation and submission. Processes all vendor payments.
  • Conduct review, reimbursement, and reconciliation of all Expensify expense reports.
  • Work with BDs to manage annual departmental budgets and forecasts.
  • Work with the CFO to manage the coordination and completion of annual financial audits.
  • Coordinate with tax accountant on annual tax returns.
  • Analyze operational and financial data, investigate variances, identify business drivers, and evaluate their impact on planned objectives.
  • Interface with budget holders in providing budget reports and forecasts monthly; serve as a financial business partner to operational leaders.
  • Support the CFO in the development of a 5year financial and strategic roadmap, focusing on forecasts, organizational buildout, cost roadmap and execution requirements of potential new acquisitions/initiatives.
  • Assess internal control risks and recommend control activities to mitigate company risks.
  • Support the development and implementation accounting processes and support improvements to accounting systems that allow company to scale.
