PURPOSE / SUMMARY
To effectively complete department day-to-day operations and assignments by management.
To operate and maintain assigned Water Control operation area in order to meet HMP's expectations consistently while maintaining compliance with Environmental, Health, & Safety Standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES (other duties may be assigned as required):
- Have a working knowledge of water control processes.
- Must complete process documentation forms, such as batch tickets, weekly equipment PM, and discharge record, verify pH/ORP meter calibration for treatment system and scrubbers are performed, scrubber operation log, bulk chemical deliveries and proper labeling of containers as required.
- Is responsible to work and act in accordance to the Quality System and the Environmental Management system.
- Directly responsible for assigned plant wastewater treatment and scrubber operations.
- Is responsible for using all equipment in the right way and in a selfsustaining manner.
- Verify all samples are collected and prepared correctly for analysis.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English for shift turnovers
- Follow SOPs and all written or verbal instructions assigned by management.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and applicable company policies.
- Must be able to perform all processes in assigned areas of the department
- Ability to wear a halfmask respirator.
- Responsible for understanding safety requirements and emergency procedures.
- Responsible for understanding basic chemical reactions and properties of chemicals within the work area.
- Responsible for handling and processing Hazardous Waste as required within the work area.
- Responsible for completion of Hazardous Waste training as required.
