River Valley Cooperative is looking for an Operator to join our team. Our Operators run our facilities through grain management and quality control. Their efforts allow us to support the needs of our member-owners. We look for people who have a safety-first mindset, and are collaborative team players.


What you will do:

  • Handle incoming grain by unloading trucks. If necessary, weigh and test the grain.
  • Transfer grain to correct bin utilizing available storage space as efficiently as possible.
  • Utilize heavy machinery, such as an end loader or skid steer to manage grain storage
  • Have operational knowledge of machinery in the elevator. Ability to operate safely, make minor repairs and conduct scheduled maintenance on all equipment.
  • Have working knowledge of the properties of corn and beans.
  • Observe all OSHA, DOT, state, federal safety regulations at all times.
  • May be exposed to dust, noise, heat, cold, ag chemicals and vapors, and moving machinery on occasion as part of this position. May be required to work long hours during harvest season and as needed, as well as work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.

What You'll bring:


  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Ag retail experience preferred
  • Basic computer skills
  • Valid Driver's License required, Class A CDL preferred

Working Conditions:


May be exposed to dust, noise, heat, cold, ag chemicals and vapors, and moving machinery on occasion as part of this position.

May be required to work long hours in season, as well as work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
