We are looking to hire a passionate, mission-oriented, driven interim Operations Manager to be responsible for leading and working with a team of service technicians and specialists at a Soil Health Center and/or Outpost(s) that installs and services systems.

This role may oversee several different Outpost locations until an Operations Manager is hired for the locations based on the number of systems installed.

This is a leadership role that will be responsible for direct management of personnel, ensuring employee health, safety and environmental compliance, coordinating with growers, and performing in-field services.

This role will report to the VP of Operations and Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S).

This role will be based out of our Bakersfield, CA office with the expectation of completing in-field activities and the option for flex/remote days.

Shift schedule is Monday - Friday.


Responsibilities

  • Lead MyLand regional operations in adherence to the company's values and behaviors.
  • Direct, manage and lead safe and efficient operation and allocation of MyLand systems and resources.
  • Develop, direct, deploy, and maintain the O&M strategy for all current and future MyLand operating assets assigned to the Soil Health Center/Outpost(s), while supporting grower relations.
  • Support development, management, and direct implementation of standardized procedures for routine and corrective maintenance, site evaluations, system installation and remote operations to maximize operational efficiency.
  • Perform Quality Assurance/Quality Control checks on operations procedures and assets.
  • Support budgeting for multiple projects and monitoring and controlling costs for a Soil Health Centers or Outpost(s).
  • Develop, manage, and direct implementation of a standardized EH&S program and safety policies across all locations to ensure operational and corporate compliance with OSHA and other government regulations and requirements.
  • Develop, mentor, and direct efforts of safety representatives to implement and improve the EH&S program.
  • Direct and manage the staffing, safety, development, and training of operations personnel at all operating sites and facilities assigned to the Soil Health Center/Outpost(s) to achieve all corporate objectives.
  • Manage and lead the coordination, cross functional alignment, and continuous improvement of operations with all other functional departments.
  • Manage the operational relationship between growers and operations employees.

Skills & Qualifications

  • At least two years of experience in an operational role and one year of leadership experience is preferred for interim role.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading a large, dispersed employee team, in a growth environment and effectively managing a large operating budget while delivering targeted results.
  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in business or engineering is preferred.
  • Effective written and verbal communication with the ability to interact with Clevel, senior managers, investors, growers, as well as with other managerial and technical employees; has skills relevant to human relations, conflict resolution, and facilitation in team environments.
  • Able to be a selfstarter, work with mínimal supervision, evaluate risks, and make decisions to resolve issues with limited information.
  • Experience in driving safety culture.
  • Able to create a culture that leads by example to inspire integrity, teamwork, and empowerment; motivates and establishes trust and commitment of all employees to achieve high levels of performance.
  • Able to troubleshoot problems, understand and communicate root causes and work with to resolve issues through structured problem solving.
  • Able to make the necessary adjustments to plans to respond to changing conditions, such as market, regulations, laws, etc.
  • Ability to work outside under high heat, stand, walk, kneel, stoop, and/or sit at desk for extended periods
  • Ability to move equipment weighing up to 80 pounds.
