Position:
Patient Service Representative

Location:
St. John, IN

Position Summary:


Under the general supervision of the Patient Services Supervisor, interacts daily with patients, insurance carriers, and staff members; provides information in response to inquiries; assists in resolving problems regarding services, insurance claims, and billing questions.


Education/Experience Requirements:


  • High School graduate (or GED equivalent)
  • 1 year prior medical office registration or billing experience required; physician practice setting preferred
  • Possess general understanding of medical terminology and CPT/ICD10 coding
  • Comprehend government and third part billing regulations
  • Able to operate general office equipment, including but not limited to: adding, facsimile, photocopy, printing, and scanning devices
  • Demonstrate empathetic and effective communication and problem solving skills
  • Able to handle complaints and unpleasant conversations with a calm demeanor
