- Apply continuous improvement methods such as lean manufacturing to enhance safety, quality, delivery/throughput, and cost.
- Partner with operations leadership to design layout of equipment or workspaces to improve productivity and throughput.
- Leverage experience in fabrication, paint, welding hydraulics, and manufacturing assembly to influence throughout improvements.
- Utilize takt time studies, flow diagrams and other operations tools to understand and improve manufacturing operations across the plant.
- Design, install or troubleshoot manufacturing equipment.
- Investigate and resolve operational issues such as bottlenecks, equipment downtime and material use variances.
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to influence equipment uptime and manufacturing throughput.
- Maintain awareness of industry best-practices and recommend changes that positively influence manufacturing throughput.
- Leverage experience to transform manufacturing operations, troubleshoot manufacturing issues and drive continuous improvement.
- Analyze production processes, schedules, methods, and other data to provide operations leadership data and statistics to scale manufacturing.
- Partner with product management to improve 'design for manufacture'
- Adhere to Company policies and procedures and influence accountability.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in engineering or manufacturing discipline.
- 5 years of applied engineering experience in manufacturing environment.
- Fabrication, welding, paint, hydraulics, manufacturing assembly.
- Ability to perform engineering calculations to substantiate design.
- Demonstrated experience in 2/3D modeling and product design.
- Experience with ERP and creating BOMs

The Manufacturing Engineer operates with a sense of urgency and is responsible for developing and implementing manufacturing and process solutions that result in continuous improvement of the single site industrial manufacturing operation in all areas of safety, quality, delivery/throughput, and cost. Manufacturing specialty vocational heavy truck cranes and aerial work platforms. We are seeking a natural problem solver with a can-do, common-sense approach and a distinct sense of urgency. A true business partner to the Plant Manager, the Manufacturing Engineer must possess experience influencing change and problem solving, implementing sustainable solutions in a high mix, mid volume industrial manufacturing plant operation. Facilitating an OpEx (operational excellence) transformation, including experience in fabrication, welding, paint, manufacturing assembly operation, ISO 9001/ quality management systems, environmental health and safety, plant maintenance, and lean manufacturing/continuous improvement processes. Implementing kanbans, kitting, internal logistics etc. The Manufacturing Engineer will develop repeatable processes and programs in preventive and predictive maintenance to reduce unplanned downtime and improve the overall safety of our employees, troubleshoot production issues requiring engineered solutions, participate in design for manufacturability, and identify tools and fixtures to support the manufacturing operations.
