- Oversee the day-to-day operation of the swimming pool, ensuring that it is clean, safe, and well-maintained
- Oversee the summer learn to swim program
- Responsible for the security of the pool
- Provide guidance and direction to the lifeguards and other support staff to ensure that they are performing their duties effectively
- Direct cleaning of the pool and upkeep of all pool equipment and facilities, pool chairs, diving boards, showers, locker rooms, and pool office.
- Ensure that all safety regulations are being followed, and respond appropriately in the event of an emergency.
- Maintain correct payroll records and schedules.
- Develop and manage program budgets.
- Manage the pool schedule and ensure that it is communicated effectively to pool users.
- Provide necessary orientation and training for staff.
- Communicate with pool users and provide exceptional customer service, responding to questions, concerns, and complaints in a professional and courteous manner.
- Develop and execute emergency procedures, skills and safety drills;
- Follow established procedures and execute sound judgment;
- Maintain aquatic department quality standards and exceptional image;
- Provides emergency lifesaving assistance, performs lifesaving CPR and First Aid in accordance with certified practices and procedures; contacts emergency medical assistance when needed.
- Recruits, trains, develops, schedules and directs aquatics staff as needed. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals;
- Provide aquatics training and ensures staff certifications and records are complete;
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience in aquatic operations, management, and programming preferred
- Valid Certifications in:
- Lifeguarding
- CPR/First Aid/AED
- Lifeguard Management
- Water Saftey Instructor (WSI)
- Learn to Swim
- Successful candidates must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination, and medical history check.
- Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check

Overview of Your Role
Boys & Girls Clubs of the Capital Area are looking for Pool Coordinator for the upcoming 2024 pool season, from June to September. The Pool Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the swimming pool during the summer season. The Pool Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing lifeguards and other support staff, managing pool maintenance and cleanliness, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and providing exceptional customer service to all pool users. The Coordinator will be responsible for the development, implementation and supervision of all aquatic program activities, aquatics staff and facilities at Troy Clubhouse location. In addition, the coordinator will be responsible for the hiring and development of aquatic staff, including but not limited to, certifications, in-service training, and scheduling and rental coordination.
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):
This is a seasonal role that operates during the summer season from June through September.

Physical Requirements:
Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.
Ability to pass a pre-employment practical skills test in the water
