Our Relationship Manager provides personalized, relationship-focused customer service to our key customers - some of the best restaurants, caterers, hotels, and specialty retailers in the New York City region.

The Account Manager enjoys a hybrid work schedule that will mix work from home with field visits to customers and sales meetings in our offices.

Lobster Place Wholesale Seafood |Gourmet Cargo is the New York City Metro-region's leading purveyor of fresh, live, and frozen seafood and specialty food products to restaurants, hotels, caterers, cruise lines, and specialty retailers.

Each day we source the finest fresh fish, live lobster, live shellfish, frozen seafood, and gourmet products from around the world, process them in a first-class distribution facility, and deliver to renowned kitchens and retailers throughout NYC and beyond.


Responsibilities:


  • Anticipate potential issues and problems with customer orders and take independent action to prevent them.
  • Coordinate with Production, Purchasing, and Transportation teams to ensure accurate order fulfillment and timely delivery.
  • Maintain up to date product knowledge and expert comprehension of Lobster Place customer policies to deliver excellent service to customers.
  • Research and resolve customer inquiries, complaints, and requests in a timely and detailed fashion.
  • Execute customer outreach plans to promote products and services; identify and inquire about changes in customer ordering patterns.
  • Promote products and drive customer behavior to maximize the profitability of each delivery.
  • Identify and contact key decision makers in client companies to cultivate profitable relationships.
  • Maintain individual relationships with assigned key account decision makers; track those customer's purchasing habits; and proactively manage customer expectations.
  • Make regular visits to assigned accounts to reinforce relationships and grow sales.

  • Respect, Friendliness, Stewardship, Professionalism, Quality and Dedication in every interaction.
  • Other duties, as requested and required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or similar experience.
  • 2 years' experience in the Food Service, Hospitality, Specialty Food, Seafood or Distribution Industries.
  • Comfortable in Sales settings willing and able to reach out and form strong individual customer relationships.
  • Strong teamwork, collaboration, and project management skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and problemsolving skills.
  • Able to master the detailed characteristics of 300+ seafood and gourmet products.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Spanish language skills a plus.

Pay and Benefits

  • Base salary $65K plus commissions (targeted at 1525% of base salary)
