The Summit Area YMCA (SAY) is seeking caring Kid Zone staff to work at both Berkeley Heights YMCA & Summit YMCA branches.

But first, you might be asking yourself, what is
_Kid Zone?_


Kid Zone is a drop-in program that provides members with childcare while they work out or participate in other programs or classes at the Y like group exercise, swimming, personal training and more.

The children play inside, do craft projects, enjoy games, sports, and more in a safe, healthy, and fun environment, under the care of our loving staff (possibly you).

Kid Zone is available to care for children as young as 6 weeks to 11 years of age.

  • Are engaged, energetic, and enthusiastic
  • Have a knack for balancing safety and fun
  • Genuinely love being around children, making a positive difference in their lives, and helping them grow, thrive, and celebrate their awesome selves
  • Communicate effectively and can make anyone laugh
  • Have availability to work at both the Summit YMCA and Berkeley Heights YMCA Branches.

Salary & Benefits:

The salary for this position starts at $16.50 per hour, based on experience. This position is part time with the ability to work up to 25 hours each week. Available shifts are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 5:
00pm - 7:
30pm and Saturday & Sundays 9:
00am - 12:
00pm. Employees must commit to working at least two shifts each week, including at least one weekend shift.

Requirements:


Qualifications:


  • Effective communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Prior experience and/or interest in working with children
  • Are 16 years or older
  • Red Cross Babysitting Certification is a plus.
