Position Overview:
Harris County ESD No. 3 is seeking a qualified EMS Supervisor to oversee and manage emergency medical services within the organization.
The EMS Supervisor will be responsible for providing leadership to a team of EMS personnel, ensuring the highest standards of patient care, and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily operations of the EMS department, including deployment of personnel and resources to meet service demands.
- Provide leadership and direction to EMS staff, fostering a positive work environment and promoting professional growth.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures governing EMS operations.
- Collaborate with other departments and agencies to enhance coordination of emergency response efforts.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to EMS personnel to facilitate continuous improvement.
- Manage scheduling, training, and certification requirements for EMS staff to ensure adequate coverage and skill development.
- Participate in the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care outcomes.
- Serve as a liaison with local authorities, community organizations, and healthcare providers to support EMS initiatives and foster positive relationships.
- Assist in budget planning and monitoring to ensure efficient use of resources and adherence to financial goals.
- Respond to emergency calls as needed to provide clinical expertise and support frontline EMS personnel.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Paramedic in an emergency medical services setting.
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- DSHS Paramedic certification required.
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of advanced life support protocols.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and effectively manage crisis situations.
