Peace Healthcare at Mountain City Center is a 89-bed skilled nursing facility, located in Frostburg, Maryland. Our top priority is providing respectful, compassionate and exceptional care to seniors in Frostburg, and the surrounding community. We treat our residents like family from the moment you arrive.

We are seeking part-time employees to work 8- or 12-hour shifts and become part of our growing team.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to bend, reach, walk, sit, stand and push/pull as the position requires
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 25lbs.

JOB SUMMARY:


The Activities Assistant is responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and implementing activities both within the facility and on community outings.

These activities must comply with federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, as well as facility policies and procedures.

Under the direction of the Activities Director, the Activities Assistant will ensure that an ongoing program of activities is maintained to meet the interests and physical, mental, and psycho-social well-being of each resident according to their comprehensive assessments


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Collaborate with the Activities Director to plan, develop, and execute daily, weekly, and monthly resident activities.Safely transport residents to and from appointments or external outings using the facility's transport vehicle as needed. This includes ensuring that residents are properly secured in the vehicle, following all traffic laws and regulations, and providing assistance to residents as they enter and exit the vehicle.Support the facility's philosophy of care and strive to achieve its goals and objectives.Foster a warm, personal, positive, and calm atmosphere throughout the facility.Provide guidance to staff on the importance of life enrichment and other areas related to residents' quality of life.Safely transport residents to appointments or external outings using the facility's transport vehicle as needed.Attend training, educational classes, and orientation programs to maintain certification and enhance the quality of care.Conduct oneonone activity therapy sessions with residents to provide sensory stimulation and promote cognitive, physical, and emotional wellbeing. These sessions may include activities such as art therapy, music therapy, reminiscence therapy, or other forms of sensory stimulation tailored to the individual needs and preferences of each resident.Plan and lead group activities that support residents' personal progress and wellbeing. These activities may include exercise classes, social events, educational programs, or other group activities that promote socialization, physical activity, cognitive stimulation, and emotional wellbeing among residents.**_
