- Primarily responsible for the monitoring, recording, and reporting of Securian Fixed Assets and software capitalization.
- Preparing and posting monthly journal entries and account reconciliations and roll-forwards within the SAP subledger/ledger.
- Partnering with leaders and FP&A professionals across the company to develop capital budgets for Enterprise Technology and Facilities.
- Identify and implement process efficiencies.
- Bring transparency to Securian's fixed assets.
- Serves as a back-up for lease accounting (ASC 842) journal entries and account reconciliations and other areas within Expense Accounting.
- Assist with other monthly, quarterly, and year-end tasks as needed such as lease accounting and various expense related accruals.
- Bachelor's Degree (concentration in Accounting, Mathematics, Finance)
- Accounting knowledge
- Demonstrated financial data analysis and problem-solving skills to effectively research, analyze and respond to expense questions.
- Prior experience performing account reconciliations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with all levels of management.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Ability to deal with confidential information and situations.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to make effective presentations to a variety of audiences.
- Experience with MS Excel and various ERP/Mgmt Information tools.
- Insurance industry experience
- Professional work experience in Accounting and/or Finance within a large corporate environment
- SAP and/or other major ERP experience
- Experience with Fixed Assets Accounting/Reporting

Overview:
The Accounting Sr. Analyst is responsible for supporting the budgeting, forecasting, analytical and presentation processes that support the organization's financial health and business strategy. It combines in-depth analysis, critical thinking and presentation of both operational and financial data to help align business processes and strategies with financial goals and to evaluate progress toward those goals.
