    Description

    Senior Compliance Coding Auditor

    Our client, a prominent NYC academic medical center, is currently looking to hire a Senior Compliance Coding Auditor.

    Responsibilities:

    • Participation in external government audits, including agencies like OMIG, OIG, AG, and OSC.
    • Communication with external agencies regarding audits.
    • Involvement in developing voluntary disclosures and repayments to federal and state agencies.
    • Coordination, supervision, and conducting medical record audits of documentation, coding, and billing for various services.
    • Preparing formal audit reports with findings and recommendations for senior management, Executive Compliance Committee, and Board of Trustees.
    • Designing and delivering documentation, coding, and billing education classes annually.
    • One-on-one education sessions based on audit discoveries.
    • Handling compliance-related inquiries through phone, email, or in-person.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree preferred.
    • 3+ years of compliance experience within an academic hospital environment.
    • Familiarity with local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
    • Coding certification (CCS, CPC, RHIA, RHIT) or ability to acquire within one year.
    • Proficiency in EPIC, SMART, 3M, MD Audit or similar compliance auditing software.
