    Job Description

    Position Overview: The Heritage Lead Teacher plays a crucial role in providing educational support and enrichment to students in our afterschool program. This role involves tutoring students in various subjects, with a particular emphasis on world heritages, and introducing them to different foreign languages on a monthly basis. Additionally, the Lead Teacher will maintain effective communication with parents and organize student pick-up schedules.

    Hours: Afternoons from 12:30 PM to 6:00 PM

    Qualifications:

    • Preferably holds twelve post-secondary or equivalent quarter units in early childhood education or has completed child development courses with passing grades from an accredited institution.
    • Associate Degree in any subject.
    • At least six months of work experience in a licensed Child Care center.
    • Passionate about history and enthusiastic about creating interactive educational experiences.

    Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with the director to manage the daily operations of the afterschool program.
    • Develop and execute age-appropriate weekly themed lesson plans that focus on language and heritage education.
    • Supervise both indoor and outdoor activities to ensure student engagement and safety.
    • Establish and maintain an orderly and stimulating classroom environment, including visually appealing displays and creative learning spaces.
    • Maintain cleanliness and organization in all classroom and student-used areas, while managing resources within budget limits.
    • Coordinate the distribution of snacks or meals as required.
    • Offer supervision and support to aides and drivers, ensuring they fulfill their duties effectively.
    • Promptly communicate any issues or concerns to the program director for resolution.
