**Transportation Staff Engineer / Engineer in Training (Ankeny, IA)**

McClure is currently searching for a skilled Staff Engineer / Engineer in Training on our growing Transportation team A Staff Engineer for McClure will have the ability to grow his/her knowledge in various metro projects in the design and plan production of local roadways. This role will provide a multitude of work experiences and exposure ranging from roadway, water main, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, erosion control, retaining walls, staging and traffic.

The Staff Engineer will work in a team environment with other engineers, at all levels of experience (PE and EI), as well as technicians. Additionally, a successful candidate will be involved in the development of plans, exhibits, and connecting with clients. The Staff Engineer / Engineer in Training will be responsible for maintaining solid knowledge of engineering principles and codes to ensure all projects are completed properly. A successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to understand the needs of clients to ensure repeat business.

**Educational and/or Experience Requirements**

Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent

1-4 years of experience desired

State Recognition as an Engineering Intern, having passed the FE test preferred

He has managed airport projects throughout the United States ranging from large commercial service airports, such as Kansas City International, Denver International, and Louisville International, to more than 20 general aviation airports throughout the FAA Central Region. n 2017, Andrew was elected to the Board of Directors for the Iowa Public airports Association, where he advocates for Iowas Airports. He also holds an FAA private pilot license.

His experience has focused primarily on water treatment facilities, wastewater treatment facilities, lift stations, booster pump stations, sanitary sewers, water mains, water storage facilities, rate studies, and capital improvement planning. While managing projects, he works with communities to determine the best way to finance the improvements. This has included, SRF, CDBG, EDA, USDA-RD, Revenue Bonds, GO Bonds, and TIF along with negotiating agreements with major utility customers.
