Replenishment Forklift Operator - Culpeper, United States - Merchants Grocery Company, Inc.

Description

The work schedule is typically Monday through Friday 6am to 2:30pm and does vary depending on delivery appointments, holidays, staffing, etc.

Perform an array of functions with the forklift that includes processing incoming products, replenishing empty slots and document product movement using a replenishment software Power Warehouse.

• Responsible for the movement of inventory throughout the warehouse
• Open boxes, crates and other containers. Verify quantity and description of merchandise received. Sort and stock merchandise
• Examine, downstack, restack and segregate incoming damaged product
• Maintain inventory control by recording inventory movement and date code validation
• Maintain safe and clean work environment by keeping debris picked up and floors swept
• Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers
• Operate and maintain warehouse vehicles and equipment
• Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations
• Other duties as assigned

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Good communication, organization, time management and mathematical skills
• Ability to operate and read a scale for weighing food (cooler only)
• Dependable and reliable

• Able to operate a standup forklift with ease as well as other hand and powered equipment
• Forklift certification within 30 days of job entry date
• Must be alert and focused
• Must be able to perform physically demanding activities (such as standing, walking, squatting, kneeling, sitting, climbing stairs and balancing for long periods of time)
• Regularly lift and/or move objects weighing 1080Ibs and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100Ibs with assistance
