Overview:
As the Catering Sales Manager at Terranea Resort, you would be responsible for soliciting, securing and responding to customer inquiries regarding the purchase of food and beverage and use of event facilities in the resort's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service


Responsibilities:


  • Catering Sales Manager, you would be responsible for soliciting, securing and responding to customer inquiries regarding the purchase of food and beverage and use of event facilities in the resort's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service.
  • Manage customer relationship through drafting proposals and contracts, responding to customer inquiries, as well as organizing arrangements as they relate to social and corporate events ie: setup and execution of social and corporate meetings, meals and special events. Provides direction and supervision of meeting and/or catering logistics to other departments and team members responsible for event execution.
  • This position is heavy weddings focused. Manage the daytoday administration of weddings and their associated room blocks including preparation of Banquet Event Orders and final accounts.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended.
  • Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
  • Maintain positive guest and employee relations at all times.
  • Be familiar with all Hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
  • Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of:
  • Daily scheduled group functions, times, locations, amount of people and specified requirements.
  • Location of all Hotel function space and names of rooms.
  • All styles of meeting and Banquet room settings.
  • Correct maintenance and use of equipment.
  • All Departmental/hotel policies and procedures.
  • All safety guidelines.
  • Check storage areas for proper supplies, organization and cleanliness. Instruct designated personnel to rectify any cleanliness/organization deficiencies.
  • Handle inquiry calls according to departmental procedures.
  • Promote positive relations with guests and employees
  • Maintain high level of knowledge in reference to Terranea and CoralTree brand and philosophy.
  • Maintain high level of knowledge of the competition's product.
  • Maintain good relationships with counterparts at competing hotels and promote Terranea and CoralTree whenever possible.
  • Design and work within market plan; maintain file database.
  • Meet solicitation and maintenance call requirements; make outside sales calls; handle all incoming inquiries.
  • Answer incoming phone calls in a pleasant manner, using correct salutations and Terranea telephone etiquette.
  • Anticipate and respond to all customer needs within a timely manner, acknowledge all customers, however busy and what time of day.
  • Follow up with inhouse guests to ensure ongoing service to the guest.
  • Plan and prepare appointments for sales trips and follow up in a timely manner.
  • Attend designated trade shows.
  • Attend departmental and hotel meetings.
  • Entertain customers in hotel outlets as necessary.
  • Successfully complete the training and certifications for the position.
  • Process paperwork to clients, other departments, etc. within a timely manner. Complete all assigned paperwork within a timely manner.
  • Always book smart in respect to patterns.
  • Ensure financial successes of hotel by overseeing all bookings are profitable for entire hotel.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Coordinate deliveries of scheduled function amenities (i.e., flowers) with vendors.
  • Meet with clients to work out the details of their functions.
  • Escort clients through the property and highlight features of facility as well as available services.
  • Prepare list of departmental equipment for annual capital expenditures.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as an Assistant Catering Manager, preferably in a resort style Hotel.
  • Strong knowledge of the social market.
  • Creative talent.
  • Basic knowledge of ethnic cuisines.
  • Fluency in English both verbal and nonverbal.
  • Provide legible communication.
  • Compute basic arithmetic.
  • Familiarity with cost controls.
  • Ability to:
