SUMMARY:Assists Provider with daily clinic and administrative tasks related to patient, lab, insurance and pharmacy communications.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Saves provider time by helping with office procedures
- Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records and keeping patient information confidential
- Counsels patients by transmitting physician's orders and answering questions about treatments, surgeries, etc.
- Schedules surgeries by making any necessary arrangements with our authorization coordinator, completing preoperative questionnaire, etc.
- Timely responses to communications from patients, pharmacies, insurance companies, etc.
- Daily patient tasks
- Daily pharmacy tasks
- Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations
- Keeps supplies ready by monitoring stock and notifying appropriate personnel immediately when it is noticed supplies are low
- Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, and reporting equipment problems to the Operations Manager
- Serves and protects the practice by adhering to professional standards, facility policies and procedures; and federal, state, and local requirements
- Enhances practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES**: - This job has no supervisory responsibilities
QUALIFICATIONS: - At least one (1) year of medical assistant experience preferred-
