    Description


    The EHS Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining occupational health and safety programs to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.

    This includes conducting inspections, audits, and investigations to identify hazards, implementing preventive measures, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

    The Specialist will collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide guidance and training to employees to promote a culture of safety and minimize workplace accidents and injuries.


    Responsibilities:


    Maintain an efficient occupational health process appropriate to the needs of our organizationProvide first aid care as directed under OHS policies & proceduresPartner with training to Include health and safety education in all areas of worker involvement.

    Obtaining, analyzing and documenting drug screen results.
    Perform baseline and annual hearing conservation testing.
    Back up support for job fairs; pre-employment drug screens. Lead and assist team members on SMART committeeEngage in communicable/occupational disease activities such as (testing, triage, symptoms check, tracing, etc.)Ensure all databases are accurate and preciseAbility to document, monitor, provide training and education to Managers, Supervisors and team members for emergency drillsRecordkeeping
    • Scanning, documenting, obtaining medical records.
    Inventory and ordering medical suppliesExecutes duties and maintains standards in accordance with company policies and procedures.
    Ability to be at work regularly and on time.

    Provide back up for workers' compensation claims handling, performance monitoringProvide observation, care, and counsel of team members with occupational illness or injuries, including first aid, follow-up care, rehabilitation service, and case managementProvide back up to schedule and/or perform health assessments and evaluate team members for return to work, fitness for duty, and medical surveillance according to policies, safety protocols and the authorized physician's written directiveCoordinate transportation for team members in need of medical care to external appointmentsReview, track and communicate with team members and necessary departments regarding safe and efficient return to workReview and communicate with necessary departments regarding post hire team member evaluationsPerform all additional duties requested by the supervisor on an "as needed" basis.

    CNA, CMA, or Medical AssistantBilingualAbility to provide support to the members of the care team (teamwork)

    Ability to maintain confidentialityDemonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writingExcellent communication and relational skills requiredMust be able to work independently with little direction/supervisionMust be adaptable and capable of absorbing new concepts and situations rapidlyMust be willing to learn everything about our business Highly Desirable Skills:
    Experience working in either an employee health clinic, occupational health settingDegree, licensing/certifications, skills, and experience preferred, but not required. CAOHC Certified, First Aid & BLS, HIPAA certification, Blood Borne Pathogen certification.


    Education requirement:
    Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association within 30 daysBasic Life Support and First Aid Train the Trainer within 180 daysObtain and Maintain CAOHC as required by state and federal guidelines within 180 days

    Work Environment:
    The work environment is a combination of corporate and manufacturing.
    While performing this job's duties, the employee is occasionally exposed to cold and humid conditions.
    The employee sometimes works near moving mechanical parts.
    The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, cold temperature, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
    The noise level in the work environment is moderate.


    Normal Work Schedule:
    The role will require flexibility in hours.

    Typically, Mon-Fri with occasional rotating SaturdayThe applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following:
