Job Summary:

PIC Group is looking for a
Massachusetts 2nd Class Engineer Licensed Control Room Operator to support a 260MW Combined Cycle Gas Turbine site.

The Control Room Operator will ensure efficient and safe electricity production, collaborating with teams to troubleshoot issues and maintain optimal performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ensure overall plant operation compliance with regulations and safety practices.
  • Take corrective action to prevent hazardous events.
  • Communicate effectively with operators, management, and entities.
  • Assign daily tasks to outside operators.
  • Address unsafe conditions promptly.
  • Provide training for operator safety and development.
  • Issue instructions to plant personnel and maintain logs.
  • Organize incident response and maintain records.
  • Oversee plant startup, shutdown, and equipment inspections.
  • Generate Work Orders, locate spare parts, and assist in inventory checks.
  • Possess knowledge of plant operations and critical parameters.
  • Complete assigned training on time.
  • Experience with DCS control systems.
Job Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a control room operator in a power plant, preferably in natural gas combined cycle technology.
  • Familiarity with GE 7E frame turbines.
  • Must hold a MA 2nd class Engineer license.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment and communicate effectively.
  • Understanding of safety protocols and emergency response.
  • Must work a 12-hour rotating DuPont shift schedule.
Physical Requirements:
  • Walk, stand, kneel, stoop without difficulty.
  • Tolerate noise in a power plant setting.
  • Manage temperature extremes.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs.
Education / Experience:
  • High school diploma, technical education or related degree preferred.
  • 5+ years as a Control Room Operator in a power plant.
  • Expertise in natural gas combined cycle technology preferred.
