This job is responsible for assisting with patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse; performs data entry, unit secretarial functions, and equipment processing.
Direct Patient Care:
Provides personal hygiene, grooming, feeding, and physical comfort (bathing, skin care, shaving, dressing).
Mobility & Positioning:
Performs lifting, turning, transferring, and ambulation of patients.
Clinical Support & Monitoring:
Monitors and documents vitals, collects/transports specimens, and reports patient condition changes to RNs.
Unit Support & Maintenance:
Maintains a clean environment, stocks supplies, and manages patient belongings during admission, discharge, or transfer.
Equipment Sanitation:
Cleans, disinfects, and maintains mobile non-critical medical equipment according to standards.
Compliance & Safety:
Performs all duties within scope of practice, following infection control protocols and safety standards.
Job Requirements
Completion of an accredited Nursing Assistant program, upon hire or military medical specialty training
Certified Nursing Assistant:
WA
Basic Life Support - CPR required through through the American Heart Association
Preferred
Six months related work experience and
Experience in a hospital setting and a specialty unit.
Preference is given toward applicants with experience as both a Certified Nursing Assistant and Unit Coordinator.
