Business Manager, Americas Research

New York


As a Barclays Business Manager, Americas Research, you will have the opportunity to locally support the Americas Research business by providing business solutions, operational leverage, and control.

With your independent thinking and commercial decision making skills, you'll engage broadly with stakeholders at all levels, including the Global Business Management team, the Research business, and functional areas.

Additionally, the role will conduct risk and control activities for Global Research, collaborating with other team members.

Salary / Rate Minimum: 150,000

Salary / Rate Maximum: 185,000

What will you be doing?

  • Providing business solutions to Americas Research Analysts and management, as well as working collaboratively with our global quantitative and data science teams
  • Managing governance forums and coordinating partnerships across the business, operations, IT, and control functions in regards to Research data products and usage
  • Working with functional areas to improve processes and help manage the business (e.g. Sourcing, CRES, Technology, Compliance)
  • Leading the development and execution of strategic initiatives as it relates to business transformation
  • Performing Risk & Control activities, including developing and enhancing processes and procedures
  • Being responsible for managing expenses and approvals, T&E monitoring and investigation

What we're looking for:


  • Excellent commercial and strategic skills with experience in managing a large book of work with competing priorities
  • Outstanding planning, organization, and coordination skills with excellent written, analytical and presentation skills use of PowerPoint and Excel
  • Meticulous attention to detail with excellent understanding of risk and controls and capable of establishing trust with business partners and stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • An independent thinker with the ability to problem solve and multitask across different projects and priorities

Skills that will help you in the role:

  • Proven experience in a financial services firm or institution
  • Understanding of the sellside Research business

Where will you be working?
You will be working at our Americas Headquarters at 745 Seventh Avenue.

This 32-story office tower is located in Times Square in the heart of Manhattan and features a cafeteria, fitness center and state-of-the-art LED signage on the facade of the building.
