Job Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Preschool Director to lead our educational team and oversee the daily operations of our Infant/Toddler and Preschool programs.
Qualifications:
- 12 ECE core units, 3 units Infant/Toddler course and 4 years teaching experience working in a licensed child care center OR A degree in child development, 3 units Administration and 2 years of teaching experience OR BA degree in child development, 3 units Administration and 1 year of teaching experience OR Child Development Site Supervisor Permit or Program Director Permit
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a preschool director or administrator
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proven ability to work effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders
- Strong understanding of child development and best practices in early childhood education
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong computer and technology skills
- Ability to work as a teacher if needed
- Valid California Director Permit or willingness to obtain one
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed
- Must have fingerprints cleared and child abuse index prior to hire
- Proof of medical/TB exam completed within 7 days of hire, Vaccinations required (MMR, COVID19)
Responsibilities:
- As the Preschool Director, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the daily operations and longterm development of our preschool program
- Willing to work more than 40 hours per week and on weekends if situation demands
- You will be responsible for providing visionary leadership, ensuring highquality early childhood education, maintaining a safe and nurturing environment for children, fostering positive relationships with parents and staff, and adhering to regulatory standards and guidelines
Leadership and Management:
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to the preschool staff
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and curriculum in line with educational standards and best practices
- Oversee budgeting, financial management, and resource allocation
- Recruit, hire, train, and supervise teaching and administrative staff
- Conduct regular staff meetings and professional development sessions to foster growth and collaboration
Educational Excellence:
- Ensure the delivery of highquality, developmentally appropriate educational programs
- Monitor and assess curriculum effectiveness and make adjustments as needed
- Support teachers in creating engaging learning environments and activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development
- Implement assessment and evaluation processes to track children's progress and ensure school readiness
Parent and Community Engagement:
- Cultivate strong relationships with parents, fostering open communication and collaboration
- Organize and participate in parent orientations, meetings, and events
- Address parent concerns and inquiries in a timely and professional manner
- Collaborate with community organizations, agencies, and stakeholders to enhance preschool services and resources
- Ensure compliance with all relevant licensing, accreditation, health, and safety regulations
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities, equipment, and materials to maintain a safe and hygienic environment
- Develop emergency preparedness plans and procedures, and conduct drills as required
- Stay informed about current trends, research, and best practices in early childhood education and implement necessary changes
Pay:
$75, $80,000.00 per year
