    The Ground, Exploitation and Operations Directorate (GEOD) provides technical and programmatic support across the legacy and future Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) ground activities as well as the US Nuclear Detonation Detection System (USNDS). Our team works closely with the customers, contractors, and other support agencies to ensure that the heritage systems are always available to support the mission, identify new ways to exploit and leverage the data for the warfighters, and help deliver resilient advanced ground systems that outpace the threats from our advisories.

    We are seeking a confident Administrative Assistant (Administrative Specialist III) who provides strategic and proactive support to the Principal Director and his team. As an integral member of the team and the focal point for the GEOD, the individual provides collaborative administrative support to ensure effective and efficient operations. This person resolves problems quickly, executes processes and procedures, and works closely with leaders, colleagues, and customers across the enterprise to ensure the sub-division runs smoothly and meets internal/external deadlines.

    Work Model: This is a full-time position for Aerospace Corporation based at Los Angeles Air Force Base that allows for 1 day per week telecommuting depending on the needs of the team and customer.

    What You'll Be Doing

    • Executes strategic, proactive, and complex calendar/meeting/event planning, management and conflict resolution
    • Arranges all travel coordination, logistics, and expense reporting for leadership and extended staff as required, including incoming and outgoing VARs/clearances
    • Coordinates employee support for the group/division/sub-division (on-boarding/relocation, timesheet administration/auditing, training requirements, supply/equipment orders)
    • Acts as Functional Time Administrator (FTA) for GEOD
    • Supports special projects, tracks actions items and deliverables​
    • Act as a partner and point of contact for leaders by working closely with and fostering connections with internal management, government customers, contractors, and external leaders​
    • Improves and ensures effective processes/systems that provide superior organization, efficiency and industry-lead technical best practices​
    • Collaborates with admins across the division and corporation to achieve coverage and increase efficiency
    • Leads by training and mentoring admin assistants and is a role model by demonstrating professionalism, team collaboration, technical expertise, and leadership behavior that is consistent with the company's values​

    What You Need to be Successful

    Minimum Requirements:

    • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
    • Strong administrative skills: strategic execution of tasks, organization, detail-oriented, writing, and proofreading
    • Strong technological fluency across a wide range of tools and platforms​ such as Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint and Excel and meeting tools such as Teams, Skype and Zoom
    • Strong communication & interpersonal skills: leadership, collaboration, resiliency, strategic thinking, problem-solving, emotional intelligence, judgment, business acumen, and decision making, across all levels of the organization
    • Ability to handle sensitive and personnel-related information appropriately and support sensitive management functions
    • Ability to work independently and/or cooperatively with a team to proactively deliver innovative solutions and resolve issues with minimal direction
    • Existing Secret security clearance which is issued by the US government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance

    How You Can Stand Out

    • Prior experience as an admin or similar role
    • Prior experience working with LAAFB/SSC customers and their systems, networks and policies
    • Familiarity with enterprise software packages such as Concur, Workday, JIRA, Confluence
    • Familiarity with Aerospace corporate organizational structures, policies, processes, and practices
    • Experience with classified data handling
    • College degree

    We offer a competitive compensation package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business. The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
