Primary Responsibilities

  • IPS (Integrated Power Systems) Ship Integration Lead is responsible for establishing acceptance criteria for the system of interest through analysis, allocation, and negotiation, and tracking the status of requirements throughout the system lifecycle.
  • Engineer will be the sole Lead or Engineering Manager for this role.
  • Engineer needs to be onsite to work with the Design Integration Team (typically Wednesdays) and meet with the Ship Design Manager (SDM) in person regularly.
  • This person will be the Machinery Integration Lead. They will be a primary member of the Design Integration Team, and embedded in the IPS Working Groups (WGs), Auxiliary/Deck WGs, and HME (Hull, Machinery, and Electrical) Controls WGs.
  • Responsibilities will fall under two categories: (1) high level understanding/communication of Marine Engineering design decisions and dependencies, and managing dedicated studies to close Marine Engineering trade space which requires input/interfacing with the broader Design Integration efforts (such as Machinery and General Arrangements, EPLA (Electric Plant Load Analysis) and Thermal calculations, weight estimation, and requirements management).
  • Support is provided through access/interfacing across the entire design team especially, Design Integration, IPS, Auxiliary, Survivability, and Affordability.
  • IPS IPT, and Critical Systems Engineering Manager have Accountability for the IPS CONOPS. This Lead will be responsible for identifying and relaying dependencies across other ship system requirements.
  • Communicating technical principles directly to client
  • Performing quality assurance reviews of simple analyses, calculations, and drawings
  • Recording and tracking action items and meeting minutes
  • Creating and managing meeting invites
  • Review change proposals to ensure they meet the necessary specifications and requirements
Basic Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship is required and must be able to obtain a security clearance
  • B.S. Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 8+ Years of Electrical Engineering ship design experience on Navy or Maritime programs
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Proficiency in standard electrical system design and analysis
  • Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Outstanding Oral, Written and Presentation Skills
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Shipyard Production Systems, shipboard medium and low voltage power systems, 60 Hz and 400Hz electrical plant, and Power Conversion is a plus
  • Proficiency in standard software e

g:
CAD, AutoCAD, and Rhino. Proficiency in ETAP and other electrical modeling software is a plus.

  • Knowledge of MIL Standards and Specifications is a plus

Pay Range $101, $183,300.00
